The last 2 days in Chaing Mai, we stayed at Shangri-la Hotel. It was my very first Shangri-la stay experience. I go to delicious restaurants of Shangri-la Istanbul all the time but never stayed there before. So it was the time when I was in Chiang Mai.
Shangri-la Chiang Mai is located in a very central location. The famous night bazaar Pavilion is just a few steps away. The airport is only 15 minutes away. You can walk to the magnificient temples of the city from the hotel.
The institutional parfume of Shangri-la hotels welcomes you at this hotel too. The huge lobby are is impressive. The local traditional clothes of the doormen in the entrance is a beautiful detail.
We stayed in one of the executive club rooms. so we had a different check-in desk in the lounge where is located on the 12th floor. Executive floor is such a comfort. Instead of standing at the lobby, here you have your check in while sititng on the comfy couches with a welcome drink.
You can have your breakfast here instead of the main breakfast room of the hotel which gives you some privacy. You can have afternoon tea and happy hour at the lounge. The club lounge at Shangri-la offers you a beautiful pool and city view from the 12th floor.
The hotel has 277 deluxe rooms. the smallest room is 43 m2 which means the room sizes at the hotel are very big.
The pool area is also very pleasurable. With the good weather in Chiang Mai, you can enjoy the pool. When we were there it was the hottest season of the year so we threw ourselves into the pool when we had the chance. Also the pool depthness is around 2,10 m which is a plus to me.
The hotel has 2 restaurants offering Chinese food in one and internatinal food in the other. Also there are 2 lounges at the hotel.
Shangri-la offers luxury in a large property with a close proximity with most of the things that Chiang Mai offers. If you are looking for a pleasurable stay, this hotel is just what you are looking for.
